Lilly Love

I have always been a fan of Lilly Pulitzer.  The style of this iconic brand is able to fit all social gatherings for the preppy and fabulous.  Below are some of my favorites dresses for the season, from weddings to the beach, Lilly has got you covered.  

 

The print in the middle is one of the newest sorority collections for AOII {yes friends, I went there}. Judge away for the sorority print, the pandas aren't my favorite...but I still love the "shout out".  Even though I am happy to be alumna - I miss college. alot.

Wishlist Wednesday

This week's wishlist should be called Let's Get Personal.  I have always loved monograms and personalized items because no matter if everyone around you is sporting the same item, yours is always unique.

Love this stationary from Gadabout.  I think everyone needs something to write a proper thank you note or really any kind of note!  Now, to decide on my favorite.

I want to add some personality to my cubical life.  An update as simple as a mousepad will have an amazing impact on my productivity level, I just know it!

I adora this updated "Carrie" necklace in acrylic from Moon and Lola.  I would want mine in tortoise or white instead of the orange.

Big Spender vs. Smart Spender

Sorry for the mini hiatus [Mom], since I am pretty sure she is the only regular reader of my newest hobby.  You just gotta love mothers for supporting you, no matter what. Anywho, I am back!

I recently posted some hot pink wedges on my Wishlist Wednesday.  I thought they would be the perfet addition to my summer shoe wardrobe but unfortunately the price tag was a little out of reach.  The other day I was browsing on e-bay and came across some very similar Nine West shoes for $200+ less.

What do you think?  Obviously, not exactly the same but for the price the Nine West ones will most definitely do.

Since I saved myself so much money I might just be purchasing another pair of shoes from my post the other day. There is that saying when it comes to fitness "You are not a dog, don't reward yourself with food."  I think I should apply that to my shopping and reward myself with shoes!

Wishlist Wednesday

Monday Inspiration

I hope everyone had a nice and relaxing weekend. Back to the grind today!

I need to read these little things over and over.  Sometimes the simplest of things can seem so difficult but make perfect sense.

I might be making this outfit my own with some of items of my wardrobe this week.  No guarantee it will come looking at effortless chic though.

I think I might start featuring an adorable animal on my Monday posts from now on.  How adorable is this mini schnazuer?!  Love him.

Wishing I was back in these seats tonight cheering on the Braves during their home opener.

I am oddly excited for this shows premiere tonight.  I need a relaxing night in before I head to Valdosta in the morning to celebrate one of my good friends's weddings, Christine.

I have always loved both of these shoe styles.  I have actually purchased both of these shoes and later decided that I needed to make more "practical" purchases.  As my friends and family can tell you I make many practical purchsaes.  So tell me which do you like better?

Wishlist Wednesday

I have never had a real desire to design my living space, I normally only focus on expanding my wardrobe.  However, for some reason lately I have been feeling the need to overhaul my bedroom.  I love my bed but that is about it.    Here are some things that I would love to add to my room to give it a little more character.

This ottoman pouf is adorable, I have a bench that sits under my window and needs to stay there. So, I think this would be a great alternative if I had two of them to go at the end of my bed. 

I am also loving the acrylic legs on this bench.  I am normally not "modern" when it comes to design but the juxtaposition of the fabric with the acrylic legs makes this piece much softer.  I think I would be more than willing to let go of my other bench in order to find room for this one.

I saw this on 20x200 yesterday and fell in love with it.  I think it would amazing as a big print in a living room.  I live with roommates so it might not be ideal right now but one day...

I also want some coffee table books.  I think they are great way to decorate on the cheap and show your personality.  Above are two currently in my Amazon bag.

Braves WIN

After a dismal start against the Mets, my hometown boys The Atlanta Braves pulled out a win.  As everyone knows it is Chipper Jones' last season and I was happy to see him get the first run of the night.  Hopefully, they can keep it up.

Fresh Food

With spring in full bloom, I have been looking for recipes that are simple and quick to make as well as being full of fresh ingredients.  Here are some of my current faves.

This quinoa salad.  It only takes about 20 minutes to make and will last you for an entire week.  I recently discovered that I love avocados, so this was a "win-win" for me.



Grilled Chicken Bruschetta.  It is simple and feels very clean.  The best about this easy to make recipe, is that it looks very fancy, and therefore very complicated.  So all of your guests will think that you spent hours slaving away at the meal that only took 30 minutes to prepare.  I serve it with roasted asparagus on the side.

This pasta is perfect for a night when want something light and quick.  I made it last night after my run and it was perfect with a little side of wine. I am also not the biggest fan of spaghetti noodles, so I just swapped them out for bowtie pasta.

Monday Inspiration

I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter!  I had an amazing weekend in Atlanta catching up with my family and friends.  I hadn't been back in awhile, I had forgotten how much I miss the tall buildings and how convenient anything and everything is.  However, I did not miss the traffic.

I love this quote.  It is something that I need to remind myself of daily.

Since I was in Atlanta, I obviously had to do some shopping.  I picked up a couple of color skirts from J. Crew and LOFT to bring some Spring/Summer trends to life in my wardrobe.  They are a little brighter than the top 2, but I loved the styling so I had to share.

 

I saw this little piglet on Pinterest last week and it just brought the biggest smile to my face.

Friday Friday Friday

I love this Easter table set-up from Pottery Barn.  The family pictures are a nice and simple touch.

Hoping that April showers bring May flowers. I love all of the colors in these flowers arrangements. Especially, the gold from the Kate Spade polka dot vase. 

I am off to Atlanta for the weekend, I haven't been back in so long it will be great to catch up with family and friends! Happy Easter everyone!

Wishlist Wednesday

A delicious meal at my parent's house in Atlanta for Easter, including this delicious french toast casserole.

The willpower to go to the gym and actually complete this treadmill workout.  It has been goal for about a month now, no time like the present.

No week would be complete without me dreaming of an item of clothing.  I am loving all the colored jeans that are out there but these Hudson's are my favorite.  Easter present perhaps? A girl can dream.

And this is a wish that I cannot wait to come true...seeing these amazing people over the weekend.

Beach Wardrobe

The high yesterday was 90 degrees here in Savannah.  It is only the beginning of April and it is already feeling like July; which of course made me think of fun in the sun and exactly what I should be wearing while having my fun.

How absolutely perfect is this? It might become a needed  purchase, after all I do live only 30 minutes from the beach.



And I think these would be a grand addition to make this preppy perfect.
